Key Skills
The CPR Success Zone has been closely involved in the development of the three WIDER KEY SKILLS since the Zone was established in 2000, initially working with Camborne Science and Community College, Curnow Community Special School, Pool Business and Enterprise College and Redruth School. This work was later extended to include Kerrier’s two other secondary schools, Helston School and Community College and Mullion, before being incorporated into programmes delivered by the Cornwall Education and Business Partnership across the county.
The three WIDER KEY SKILLS are offered as QUALIFICATIONS at Levels 1 to 4, although currently schools concentrate on levels 1 and 2. Level 1 is broadly equivalent to GCSE D to G and Level 2 is broadly equivalent to GCSE C to A*. These qualifications provide students a points value and sit alongside points values attributed to other qualifications, such as GCSE subjects, at Key Stage 4.
