Supporting & Developing

Learning Space staff aim to view the services that they offer from the perspective of the people using them. First time visitors to the Learning Space may be apprehensive and unsure, so we hope to greet them with big smiles. For people to get the most from a day’s visit, they need to feel comfortable very quickly, so ‘ice breakers’, ‘getting to know each other’ and ‘team building’ activities are very important. It is essential to role model our creative approach and learning ethos to visitors, so deliberate efforts are made early on to positively reinforce these through the things we say and do. People are always the most important part of everything we do. Lead learners need to feel good about themselves to effectively lead the learning of others. Lead learners need meaningful positive feedback just as much as learners.

We are an inclusive, hard working and flexible team, who remember how important is it to have a really good laugh. The biggest financial investment in learning organisations is in people. It is people that make things happen! In a busy world it is easy to forget to show just how much you value and appreciate the people working around you. A person’s job security lies in their knowledge, skills and attitudes and they need to be given regular opportunities to develop all of these. In a remodelled workforce, staff need the support and encouragement to be empowered to take control of, lead and expand their work roles.
