Children plan & Assess their own Learning
Investigating children’s ability to plan and assess their own learning- Karen Brooker, Kehelland Village School
The project involved the whole school and the main focus was to find out if children could plan their own learning and make significant contributions to the assessment of their learning. At the end of the year, children were able to plan topics through generating questions that they would like to answer over the term; their planning covered all areas of the curriculum. By being involved in the planning, the children were more motivated to learn and many children extended their research at home, demonstrating their learning.
