Getting Parents more Involved
Assessing the impact of ‘Getting Parents more involved with school’- John Welham, Camborne Science and Community College
A project looking specifically at the attainment and attitudes of students whose parents become involved in the work of the school through the programme: Parents were invited to sessions in and out of school time, in which teachers took them through coursework assignments, explained targets, expectations, assignment criteria and answered queries. Across 3 years, it was found that the involvement of parents continues to have a measurable impact on students GCSE attainment.
