Recycling Challenge - Kehelland Village School
To provide initial inspiration, the students had a tour of the CPRLS’s environmentally sustainable features. They went on to use some of these ideas into their own plans. They also created their own recycled costumes, thinking about which features would be beneficial and which materials would be most appropriate to use.
Environments Day - Lanner Primary School
The Pod and Dome were transformed into beach and woodland scenes, respectively, using a huge range of natural resources. The students had the opportunity to explore and use these resources, creating their own ‘animal’, which was specially adapted to live in one of the featured environments. They then introduced their ‘animal’ to students in the other environment and discussed how their created animal might survive if moved to a different habitat.
Myths and Legends - Troon CP School
The students participated in a range of workshops, including dance, drama, music, costumes, masks and sculpture; offering them the skills to create their final ‘show’. The children had written their own myth, using the local landscape for inspiration. By the end of the 2 days, the children presented their ‘myth’ to the other groups using a powerful and moving combination of music, drama, mime, dance etc.
Friendship - Trevithick School
Trevithick School brought their Nurture Group along. The activities were developed specifically to support the focus of developing positive relationships. The students were encouraged to explore the concept of ‘friendship’ through a range of creative activities- the idea being that they would be able to explain and demonstrate the concept of ‘friendship’ to an alien (if they were to ever meet one!); building towards a final ‘show and tell’ celebration.
Sikhism - Rosemellin CP School
Study of the religion through the use of relevant artifacts, photos, costumes and food.
