Meet the Team

Terry Reynard - Additional Support Manager

Clare Lowry - Senior Educational Psychologist
I am a Senior Educational Psychologist (EP) working for the Children, Young People and Families Service in West Cornwall. In this role I have been working with a cluster of schools in Camborne, including Camborne Science and Community College. Before becoming a Senior EP I worked with the same cluster of schools and the Early Years Inclusion Team. I have been seconded to work with SMART for 2 days a week. I will be contributing to the team in a number of ways :
- By bringing a psychological and educational perspective to enhance the holistic approach of the team
- To broaden the multi agency composition
- To develop reflective casework discussion and supervision
- To carry out systemic work in identified schools in the CPR Success Zone to tackle behaviour and attendance issues
- To deliver training to different staff groups on a variety of subjects, including solution focussed working
- To carry out a review of multi agency meetings in schools.
I look forward to working with you in this new role.

Bev Foster – Administrator
I have over 35 years experience as an Administrator, having worked in both Finance and IT industries. Since moving to Cornwall in 2000, I have spent 4 years in the Social Services offices in Penzance as Administrator to the Home Help service. This is my first experience of part-time working, and I am enjoying the freedom this gives me to spend time walking the dogs and, finally, learning to cook.

Sarah Colloff - Family Suport Worker

Nicola Furr - Family Support Worker

Andrew Renhard - Behaviour Support Worker (Paul Hamlyn Project)
My name is
Prior to starting this post I have worked as a primary school teacher in schools in Croydon, Inner City Birmingham and
As part of my post I will be supporting children who have been given short term exclusions from schools in the local Camborne and Redruth area. I feel that I have important role here to help these children back into mainstream education with improved attitudes and respect and higher self-esteem but at the same time helping them to continue successfully as learners in the school environment.
As a teacher I am fully aware of the demands that such challenging children can bring. I feel that I could take such demands off teachers by ensuring work is provided and completed that is age appropriate, differentiated to the childs needs and ensures that the children involved do not fall behind with the rest of the class.
I have always worked in challenging and demanding schools and thus feel equipped to offer support and guidance on behavioural and classroom management matters if I was ever required to do so.
I look forward to meeting and working with you in the near future. My timetable is available to view here.

Clare Gillingham - Behaviour Support Worker
I started working for the zone as a Behaviour Support Worker developing the Paul Hamlyn Project with Linda Ruffell in July 2008. At the moment I am realIy loving the variety of my role developing procedures, protocols and resources for the project; working in partnership with schools to improve behaviour management across the locality; and sharing good practice. Since starting in this post I have undertaken Team Teach training and CAF/ ISA training amongst others, and am looking forward to starting the National Programme for Specialist Leaders in Behaviour and Attendance in Februaury 2010. Before taking up this post I worked as a COMPASS key worker with the Youth Offending Team assessing families needs and providing tailored packages of support to children aged 7-14 who were at risk of offending. Initially I started working with children in Bristol as a play worker after I graduated from University. During this time I became interested in the therapeutic benefits of play and developed this through studying with Play Therapy UK and I have since undertaken the Level 1 Penhaligon's Friends training. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools in Bristol and St Ives, taking on a variety of roles but focussing on supporting children with various additional needs in groups, individually and within the classroom. In Bristol I worked in a school in special measures, initially supporting years 3 and 4 which included many children with complex needs. My role quickly developed into that of the home-school worker (similar to learning mentor) where I had my own "nurture room" and ran social skills groups, individual sessions, and drop in sessions for key stage 2 children and ran a lunchtime club for key stage 1 children. When I returned to Cornwall in 2007 I worked as a TA at St Ives Junior School supporting a child with Autism and providing speech and language and social skills support for groups of year 3 children.
Julie Roberts - Behaviour Support Worker (Paul Hamlyn Project)
My role will be working alongside and supporting Andrew and Clare's roles. I work Monday and Tuesday on the Paul Hamlyn Project and Wednesday to Friday at Troon School as a Teaching Assistant. Working in education was something I never considered. My background had been working in Elder care and Mental health. At Troon School I have worked with children from nursery to year 6. I have experience in one to one support for children with behaviour difficulties, been trained and deliver individual speech and language sessions and co- ran a Speak Easy course for parents. This enables parents to become confident to talk to thier children about relationships and sex. I enjoy keeping fit, hill walking with my dog and trying new things, especially different cakes! I know I'm going to enjoy my new role with the Paul Hamlyn Project and meeting professionals, pupils and parents.

Danielle Curtis - Parent Support Adviser
I joined SMART in July 2008 as a Parent Support Adviser and enjoyed participating in the exciting SMART Summer Activities programme. I began working with children and young people whilst at University in London. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I was fortunate enough to work in many different schools which has provided me with a variety of experiences and opportunities. Through my Drama and English based Degree, I became fascinated in education within schools and its effect. After graduating I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Redruth School. Working and living locally has given me a personal understanding of the area and the needs of the local communities. I am now well into the Parent Support Adviser role within SMART and working with pupils, young people, parents and professionals. Outside of work, I am currently busy renovating my house!
