An introduction to Weeth C.P. School

Weeth School was opened in 1968 and now caters for children aged 4 – 11 yrs. The present admission limit to our Reception Class is 25. The children are grouped into six classes, three in the infants (Key Stage 1) and three in the juniors (Key Stage 2). The school is housed in a very pleasant, light and airy building with one class using an Elliott classroom situated at one end of our playground.

In addition to our playground, we have the use of a school field, which is a few minutes walk away. Weeth is one of the smaller schools in Camborne and this enables us to retain a close “family” atmosphere among children, parents and staff. After leaving Weeth, children transfer to one of the local Comprehensive Schools.

Since January 2000, Weeth has been part of the Camborne. Pool and Redruth Success Zone.

THE SCHOOL DAY The School Day will be as follows:-

7.45 – 8.20 a.m. “Early Birds” Breakfast Club

8.40 a.m. School starts Our mornings are split into 3 sessions by Assembly and Break 11.45 a.m.

KS1 lunch begins (45 mins.) 12.30 p.m.

KS2 lunch begins (45 mins.) Mid afternoon break for KS1

2.55 p.m. School finishes We firmly believe that an early start leads to better work and learning.

The split lunchtime gives all the children space to enjoy a more relaxed playtime after their lunch.
